Ingredients
Scale
Chicken and Seasoning
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Broth and Sauce
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon butter
Noodles and Garnish
- 2 packs ramen noodles (fresh or dried)
- 1 green onion, chopped (for garnish)
- 1 teaspoon chili oil (optional, for extra heat)
Instructions
- Season the Chicken: Season the chicken thighs with chili powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Let them sit for 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Sear the Chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken thighs for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and allow to rest before slicing.
- Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce: In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir in heavy cream and cook until the sauce slightly thickens, around 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Cook the Ramen Noodles: Prepare ramen noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare the Broth: In another pot, heat sesame oil. Add minced garlic and sauté briefly. Pour in chicken broth and soy sauce. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes to develop flavors.
- Assemble the Dish: Divide cooked noodles into serving bowls. Pour the hot broth over the noodles. Top with sliced seared chicken thighs and drizzle the creamy garlic sauce over the top.
- Garnish and Serve: Garnish with chopped green onions. Optionally, drizzle chili oil for extra heat. Serve hot and enjoy.
Notes
- For extra spice, add the optional chili oil generously or adjust chili powder amount when seasoning the chicken.
- Fresh ramen noodles will yield the best texture, but dried noodles work well too.
- Letting the chicken rest after searing ensures juicier slices.
- You can substitute the heavy cream with coconut cream for a dairy-free variation (not vegan).
- Adjust salt in the broth according to the saltiness of your soy sauce.
