- 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
Chocolate Coating
- 10 oz Ghirardelli dark chocolate melting wafers
- 10 oz Ghirardelli white vanilla melting wafers
Decoration
- Christmas sprinkles
Instructions
- Process the Oreos: Use a food processor to crush the Oreos into fine crumbs to create the base for the balls.
- Mix with cream cheese: Add the softened cream cheese to the Oreo crumbs and blend until fully combined and smooth.
- Form the balls: Scoop rounded portions of the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and roll them into balls using your hands.
- Chill the balls: Place the shaped balls in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up before dipping.
- Dip in dark chocolate: Melt the dark chocolate wafers and dip half of the chilled Oreo balls into the chocolate. Immediately sprinkle with Christmas sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
- Dip in white chocolate: Melt the white chocolate wafers and dip the remaining balls, then add Christmas sprinkles on top as well.
- Set and serve: Chill the dipped balls until the chocolate coatings have completely set and hardened before serving.
Notes
- Use full-fat cream cheese for best texture and flavor.
- Ensure the cream cheese is softened to avoid lumps in the mixture.
- Melt chocolate gently using a double boiler or microwave in short intervals to avoid burning.
- Store Oreo balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- For a festive twist, try different colored sprinkles or mix in peppermint extract with the cream cheese.
