Ingredients
Scale
Salmon
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
Dipping Sauce & Garnish
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to ensure easy cleanup after baking.
- Prepare the Salmon: Rinse the salmon fillets under cold water and pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels. Season both sides of each fillet with salt and pepper to your preference.
- Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, combine olive oil, honey, soy sauce, sriracha sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and rice vinegar. Whisk these ingredients together until well blended.
- Apply Sauce to Salmon: Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Generously brush the sauce mixture over the top of each fillet, reserving some sauce for the dipping sauce.
- Bake the Salmon: Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the flesh flakes easily when tested with a fork. Cooking times may vary based on the thickness of the fillets.
- Prepare the Dipping Sauce: While the salmon bakes, mix the reserved sauce with mayonnaise in a separate bowl until smooth and creamy. This sauce will complement the salmon perfectly.
- Rest the Salmon: Remove the salmon from the oven and allow it to rest for a few minutes to let the juices redistribute.
- Serve: Drizzle the salmon with the creamy dipping sauce and garnish with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Serve hot alongside your preferred sides such as rice or steamed vegetables.
Notes
- You can adjust the amount of sriracha to make the dish milder or spicier according to your taste.
- For a gluten-free version, use tamari or a gluten-free soy sauce instead of regular soy sauce.
- Try serving this salmon with jasmine rice or quinoa and steamed broccoli for a balanced meal.
- If you prefer skinless salmon fillets, baking time remains the same but handle fillets carefully when serving.
- Leftover sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
